We are the 10th-grade students from Hummingbird School, Majuli, Assam, and this December (21st-23rd), we are organizing the first-ever children's literary festival organized by children in Northeast India called "Ammo."
Why "Ammo"?
In the Mising language, "Ammo" means "seed." Just like a tiny seed grows into a mighty tree, we believe that every child holds within them the seed of creativity. "Ammo" is our way of nurturing these seeds and helping young minds find their voice through the power of literature.
Our Inspiration:
At Hummingbird School, we are lucky to have a vibrant literary environment. We have children-led wall magazines filled with stories and poems, and a library overflowing with books that transport us to different worlds. But we know that many children in Majuli and rest of Northeast India don't have the same opportunities.
What is "Ammo" all about?
"Ammo" is a three-day festival designed by children, for children. We're planning exciting workshops with authors and storytellers, interactive reading sessions, poetry slams, art activities, and much more! We want to create a space where children can:
The festival will roll out in the beautiful campus of The Hummingbird School in Majuli. We expect over 1500 children to participate in this festival. There will be fun events to engage adults as well.
Why We Need Your Support:
To make "Ammo" a reality, we need to raise ₹3,00,000. Your generous contributions will help us with:
Every contribution, big or small, will make a difference!
By supporting "Ammo," you're not just donating to a festival; you're investing in the future of Majuli's children. You're helping us plant seeds of creativity that will blossom into a generation of writers, thinkers, and dreamers.
Join us in making "Ammo" a resounding success!
