Adopt a child- Education (monthly)

4,000

tax benefit: 50%

A child’s journey should never be paused due to a lack of support. Through our “Adopt a Hummingbird” initiative, you can ensure that continuity by supporting a child’s education with Rs. 4,000 per month (Rs.48,000 per academic year).
In the river island of Majuli, Assam where floods return each year and uncertainty is part of daily life, there exists a space where children are choosing a different story for themselves. The Hummingbird School is a community-built educational initiative founded in 2017 where over 300 children from LKG to Grade 10 come together every day to learn, question, create, and imagine futures that once felt out of reach. Many of these children come from tribal and underserved backgrounds, where access to consistent, quality education is still a challenge. The Hummingbird School.

When you support to educate a child at The Hummingbird School, you are not just contributing to their education. Rather, you are ensuring that they continue to grow within an environment that consistently nurtures, believes in, and invests in their potential and dreams. You are making it possible for:

  • A child to experience learning that goes beyond rote into curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world understanding.
  • Children to build 21st-century skills: communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and creativity that prepare them for a rapidly changing world
  • Everyday engagement with life skills and extracurricular learning, where confidence, leadership, and self-expression are nurtured beyond the classroom
  • A classroom to remain a safe, consistent, and engaging space supported by dedicated teachers who are their friends and mentors.

We have already seen what sustained support can unlock and the outcomes have been extraordinary. In 2025, our very first batch of Grade 10 students, all 15 of them passed with first division, in a year when the state pass percentage dropped below 64%. Not one child was left behind. Today, they are continuing their education in cities like Bangalore and Chennai, all of them the first in their families to ever step into such spaces. Prashanta, our alumni, is now training at the Chennai Super Kings Academy carrying with him to play for the Indian Cricket Team someday. And in December 2025, something remarkable happened. Our Grade 9 students organised and raised ₹5 lakhs on their own and brought to life the region’s only student-led Children’s Literary Festival, welcoming close to 1,000 people each day over three days. We believe, these are outcomes of consistency and not chance.

To support a child in receiving high-quality context-based education at the Hummingbird School, we invite you to join our “Adopt a Hummingbird” initiative, supporting a child’s education at ₹4,000 per month (₹48,000 per academic year). This recurring contribution supports teacher salaries, learning materials, and the everyday ecosystem that allows a child to learn with dignity. More importantly, it ensures that no child has to pause their education because support fell through. If this resonates with you, we would be grateful to have you as part of this journey.
